Student Placements
Depending on workload and circumstances, i-Transport offers Student Placements to provide practical employment experience to local students.
Current Vacancies
We are seeking enthusiastic graduates with one years’ experience in the transport industry to join our growing team and assist our senior professionals in delivering development planning projects across the country. This will include:
- Obtaining, analysing and interpreting traffic and transport data from a range of external sources;
- Appraising development sites in terms of their accessibility by a range of transport modes;
- Writing sections of Transport Assessment and Travel Plan reports;
- Undertaking junction capacity assessments; and
- Undertaking site visits and inputting to masterplan and junction designs.
Applicants should:
- Be degree qualified in a relevant field with a genuine interest in transport planning;
- Have an understanding of the principles of transport planning;
- Good problem-solving skills;
- Good presentation and technical writing skills; and
- the ability to manage their own time to meet deadlines.
The role provides an opportunity for candidates to be involved in a number of diverse development transportation related projects, varying in scale and nature ensuring an interesting workload.
Training is offered to all of our staff, including a bespoke mentoring programme and professional membership subscription.

Contract: Full-time permanent
We are seeking an enthusiastic CAD Technician with at least one years’ experience to join our growing team and assist our senior professionals in delivering development planning projects across the country. The role will include:
- Using AutoCAD to prepare simple highway designs;
- Assisting Senior/Principal Technicians in the preparation of more complex highway designs;
- Undertaking swept path analysis;
- Obtaining and overlaying boundary and Title information;
- Commissioning data collection; and
- Preparing technical figures for inclusion within Transport Assessments.
Applicants should:
- Have a minimum of one years’ experience using AutoCAD;
- Be able to prioritise and manage your own workloads;
- Have good attention to detail and accuracy in the preparation of technical work;
- Have good verbal and written communications skills; and
An understanding of highway design principles is desirable but not essential.
The role provides an opportunity for candidates to be involved in a range of diverse development related projects that vary in scale and nature.
