Members in Wandsworth approved planning consent in September for an integrated care community with over 100 extra care apartments and ancillary facilities including restaurant, cinema, and swimming pool overlooking Clapham Common. The new facility, to be operated by Red and Yellow, a specialist in dementia care and support and will be a purpose built community that provides medical, nursing, personal care and housing for people at all stages of long term health issues such as dementia.

On behalf of the Nightingale Lane Planning Company, i-Transport LLP provided internal site design, in conjunction with the world renowned practice Hopkins Architects, including service vehicle arrangements at the front of the site, and layout testing for a basement car park and servicing area accessed by way of vehicular lifts. This supported the preparation of a Transport Assessment reviewing the impact of the proposed development, supporting the reduction in car parking from the site’s existing use, and promotion of sustainable travel patterns enhanced by the site’s close proximity to Clapham South Underground Station, over 30 bus services per hour, and access to Cycle Superhighway 7.

Additional information on Red and Yellow can be found on the Red and Yellow Care website.
