On the 6th November, our Manchester and Leeds offices spent the day volunteering at FareShare Greater Manchester.

FareShare are a charity who save fresh in date and good to eat surplus food from the food industry, which would otherwise go to landfill, and redistribute it to those most in need. Over the past 10 years FareShare have distributed over 11 million meals, and they aim to be giving out 7 million meals a year to vulnerable people by 2022.

The team spent the day sorting food orders, helping out in the warehouse, and going out in the delivery vans to hand deliver the orders to a number of local charities and community groups.

After a very busy but rewarding day, the team had helped to redistribute an impressive 5 tonnes of food, which equates to just over 11,500 meals for vulnerable people across the region.
