The A6 to Manchester Airport relief road will provide enhanced connectivity into the North West. The scheme will consist of a mix of new dual carriageway, new and improved junctions and a shared cycle/footway running parallel with the road. The scheme is being developed by Stockport Council with its partners Cheshire East Council, Manchester City Council and Transport for Greater Manchester.

The scheme is due to commence on site in March following the full approval of Stockport Council’s compulsory purchase powers by the Department for Transport. The road is due to open in autumn 2017.

Full details of the A6 to Manchester Airport relief road, including the latest scheme plans, are available online.
