Proposals by Bellway Homes to build 205 riverside apartments were recently approved by Spelthorne Borough Council’s planning committee. The planning application was submitted last December and included proposals for a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments together with a restaurant, 140 parking spaces, a gym and communal residents’ garden. The scheme also provides improved access to the Thames Tow Path through the site via a new pedestrian walkway with seating and landscaping. The development will provide a landmark building and contribute to regenerating Bridge Street and the surrounding riverside area of Staines-upon-Thames. i-Transport LLP provided highways and transport advice in relation to the site layout, parking and servicing arrangements. A Transport Assessment and Travel Plan were also prepared to support the planning application for the development.
