Planning permission has been granted for a series of developments at Mary Hare Snelsmore campus. Mary Hare is a specialist education provider for deaf children and young people with the Snelsmore campus being located on the edge of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The centrepiece of the comprehensive estate rationalisation is a new state of the art primary school and boarding house which will bring together primary and secondary pupils on one campus for the first time. Planning permission has also been granted for a new business centre and conference centre which will co-locate Mary Hare’s commercial enterprises, with educational facilities on the campus.
i-Transport provided highway and transport advice on the scheme identifying that the proposal would have no significant adverse impacts on the local highway network. The design team have worked closely with the local planning to ensure that the new primary school is sensitive to its landscape setting and will make a positive contribution to the campus, providing a low lying building which takes advantage of the topography, nestling into the hillside.
