From washing cars in Basingstoke for Heartburn Cancer UK, to cooking meals for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald Evelina House in London, and preparing the farm for Christmas at the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust in Manchester, i-Transport’s staff across our four offices have had a fun few months supporting their chosen charities.
On Thursday 11 September, the Basingstoke office held a charity car wash to support HCUK (Heartburn Cancer UK). The team washed nearly 40 cars throughout the day, with many of the customers commenting how professionally their vehicles were cleaned. Over £400 was raised to help HCUK deliver its vital work.
In October, staff from the Manchester and Leeds offices visited the Children’s Farm Adventure Trust (CAFT) to spend the day assisting the Trust with preparations for their Christmas charity events, maintain their grounds and assisting with their on-site livestock and birds. They all had a great day and were delighted to assist this great charity who provide holidays for children with severe physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments and terminal illnesses, children who act as carers for a family member, who have already faced bereavement and children who have witnessed and been victims of abuse.
For the third year in a row, the London office visited Ronald McDonald House’s Evelina site, part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The House is a free ‘home away from home’ for the families of children being treated at the Hospital. A freshly cooked curry themed dinner prepared by the team welcomed the families after a day on the wards.
